Bonding is a fancy word for the most basic and instinctual process of falling in love with your baby, and your baby falling in love with you. Our modern society has moved so far away from nature, and birth has been so corrupted by institutionalsm of birth, that this normal phenomenom has to be rediscovered and researched by scientists and anthropologists and sociologists. Now hospitals are trying to use the gimmick of “we offer bonding with your baby” in order to attract consumers to spend their government birth money in their hospital. Anyone who has birthed at home or seen a homebirth knows that babies and mothers and fathers belong together. Isn’t it insane that hospitals think that babies should go to nurseries? Can anyone think of a normal animal abandoning its healthy newborn? If such a separation would happen then this offspring would have no chance of survival. Why must modern industrialized society create such a detrimental system? Once again the old demons of money, and ego, and control.
